IMCOT Policies
Equal Opportunities
We recognise that groups and individuals have
been and continue to be discriminated against on the basis of
age, disability, illness, gender, religion and sexuality. We
are committed to equality of opportunity and the promoting of
good work practices. We ensure that these principles are
integrated into all the training and consultancy that is
provided. Managing and valuing diversity is emphasised in all
our work so that its effect on all staff and service users is
understood. We work to ensure that all individuals are treated
with respect and understanding and that the effects of
discrimination is understood in all its aspects in the
workplace.
We also recognise that discrimination and
prejudice does not cease merely through training and policy
decisions and stress the importance of staff commitment to
anti-discriminatory work practices. We are committed to working
with the policies and procedures of the Commissioning
Organisation.
Imcot Training Professionals offer large print
versions of all course materials. We endeavour to present our
oral material in such a way that it can be lip read by hearing
impaired participants. We deliver the training programmes in a
linguistic style which can be most clearly understood by
participants. We are sensitive to the wide variety of
non-verbal communication styles which we meet in our training
work through the richness of cultural variety and integrate
these issues within the way in which we present our training
programmes.
Health & Safety
We comply with the Health and Safety regulations
and policies of each commissioning organisation and would ensure
that all associates are fully aware of your policies.
Regular check on Health & Safety regulation, new
legislation and the policies of commissioning organisations are
carried out and updates are conveyed to our personnel. We are
briefed in Safe Systems at Work operations. Normally we prefer
to use clients equipment where possible. We do not bring any
equipment onto client premises without prior permission from the
commissioning organisation.
Key Competencies
The key competences laid down by our contractors
are adhered to at all times. We have professional staff
qualified as NVQ assessors and experienced with Investors in
People, who guide us through the structuring of our courses to
ensure that our training programmes and training outcomes meet
with the competences specified by our contractors. It is our
practice from time to time to employ an outside resource to
evaluate this process and to verify the quality of the outcome.
Quality Assurance
Quality Assurance standards laid down by our
contractors are adhered to at all times. Regular evaluation of
our work and frequent use of evaluation forms enable us to
follow up and monitor individual feedback. A major development
project is currently being evaluated by a PhD student at Kings
College, London. It is our practice from time to time to employ
an outside resource of this nature to verify the quality of our
products.
All our courses are continually reviewed and
reassessed by our professional staff through our self monitoring
procedures and in the light of published research so as to
ensure that we deliver state of the art material.
All our courses are evaluated by participants and
continually updated and amended in this light.
All systematic work and one-to-one coaching is
supervised following each session.
We aim to apply ‘Best Value’ criteria in order to
ensure that we deliver the very highest professional standard of
training, are effective in helping staff to reach successful
learning outcomes which can be judged also to be extremely cost
effective.
We aim to meet also criteria as laid down in a
“Investors in People”. In order to provide an effective
learning experience for each individual participant we
continually monitor throughout the training programmes the
progress of the individual delegates through assessment in
feedback sessions and observations made during discussions and
individual presentations. We offer one to one opportunities
during breaks and at the end of the training day to participants
to discuss any difficulties that may have arisen for them during
the training period. We encourage and support staff to overcome
any difficulties and take any problems to their manager. We
provide a trainer evaluation of our programmes direct to the
contractor.
