Client and Carer Focused Mental Health Assessments
Duration:
Target group:
- Mental Health Professionals
Synopsis:
This course provides an
opportunity to develop an understanding and the means by which
to implement modernising the CPA including any specific
guidelines and procedures. . Throughout this course the
facilitator will aim to ensure that the outcome of the
discussion is related to the spectrum of views, which may be
held by both users and carers. Particular attention will be
given to the implications of the Carers Act and of ethnic,
cultural and linguistic differences in this respect. Case
studies and examples, which participants will be encouraged to
bring with them, will be used to provide an opportunity to
better integrate specialist, clinical and social assessments
into the holistic assessment tools currently being used in the
organisation. Opportunities will be given to discuss and review
current methods of risk assessment and how these can be better
integrated into the holistic assessment. Case studies and
experience of participants will be used to formulate ways in
which assessments can be translated into more effective CPA’s
and Care Management. The use of techniques including force
field analysis will be used in small group exercises to assist
