Organisation Development, including Change
Management:
Emotional Intelligence
1. What
is Emotional Intelligence (EI)?
Emotional
Intelligence is what differentiates
enhanced performance from the run-of –the mill for both
individuals and for teams.
Intrapersonal
Intelligence is being aware of our
inner processes and thinking and knowing how to respond
appropriately. Intrapersonal intelligence enables us to be aware
of ourselves, how we think and feel and are likely to respond in
any given situation. It provides us with the tools for effective
self-management
Interpersonal
intelligence is being aware of what is
happening in other people and being able to predict how they are
most likely to respond. In addition it is being able to
interpret what is happening between people and how to intervene
most appropriately. Interpersonal intelligence enables us to
manage relationships well at work and in all aspects of our
lives
2. The
benefits of EI know-how for the organisation
Human capital is
the organisation’s greatest expense and, at the same time, its
most valuable asset. It is essential to provide staff with the
skills to develop and grow with the organisation, in order to be
effective allow the organisation to compete in the market.
Imcot has consultants qualified to use the ‘ie’ and ‘te’
questionnaires based on the extensive work of JCA (Occupational
Psychologist) Ltd and the Centre for Applied Emotional
Intelligence to help them to understand these processes and
develop the skills required to enhance their potential in this
respect.
3.
Workshops
Questionnaires can be completed on-line.
Workshops are offered to provide an understanding of the
concepts involved and to provide participants with the insight
to improve individual and/or team emotional intelligence.
