Aims and Objectives:

Aims:

  • To enable staff to undertake Risk Assessments within their own workplace using recognized techniques.
  • To enable them to understand the process of Risk Assessment.
  • To engender safe working practices.
  • To enable staff to complete actual department and/or job assessments for the resource.
  • To help staff to acquire skills in recording this information.

Objectives:

  • To enable all staff to undertake basic risk assessment for both departments and job functions.
  • To understand the legislation which requires active accident management techniques to be used.
  • To understand the formal methods of calculating the risk, likelihood and potential severity of an incident techniques to be used.
  • To enable staff to complete risk assessments for both departments and job functions for their resource.
  • To understand the type of tasks which require risk assessments at their resource.
  • To create teams within each resource who are able to undertake risk assessments as and when required.
  • To provide staff with the skills to determine risk potentials.
  • To provide staff with the skills to complete risk assessments.
  • To create awareness of the need for continuous risk assessment for all critical tasks.
