Negotiated with each team. Two day minimum. Preferably one day followed by 2/3 hour sessions weekly, then fortnightly.
Target group:
This course is offered for staff teams in-house. Course content is negotiated individually with the team so that specific issues are identified and discussed with them. The course helps staff understand how teams work and the importance of working together to develop systems and processes. The course encourages team members to develop facilitation, communication skills and analyse what helps and hinders team development. Team-building is based on a systemic approach in which the strengths of team and the learning process is continually affirmed. The team identifies its goals and the strategies required to adhere them.

To understand the importance of harmonious team building.
To strengthen teamwork, identify areas of mutual support and develop effective systems to working together.
To examine the need for clear definition and agreement of team objectives and tasks.
To evaluate approaches to team building and management
To examine strengths and weaknesses in working together.
To identify factors that inhibit teamwork.
To help teams deal effectively with conflict situations.
To evaluate communication systems and to help teams to develop effective methods of identifying and achieve goals and targets.
To identify changes to enhance team work
To examine decision making and problem solving systems.
To help the staff team develop intervention strategies which enable the team to work in a cooperative and non-judgmental work pattern
To establish strategies to develop involvement in a commitment to shared aims.
